Tamborine Creek Farm is located in the foothills of Tamborine Mountain only 10 kms from Movie World and Wet’n’Wild. It spans over 835,680 square metres, 1500 metres of creek frontage and a ridgeline plateau of 30,000 square metres that has views from Banora Point to North Stradbroke. We think our farm is one of the most unique properties on the Gold Coast.
The Welch family were European Pioneers and settled the site in the mid 1800’s and continued to dairy farm through several generations until the 1990’s. With increased property values due to an ever-expanding Gold Coast, a prestige acreage estate was approved over multiple properties and stages. However, as development of the first stages concluded, the Global Financial Crisis commenced. Although there were 17 lots in the final stages approved on the farm, the developers sold the property undeveloped.
After 10-15 years of no maintenance, the property was severally overgrown. Every day we worked on the farm it felt like another part of the history would surface. From glass bottles so thick that you could throw them and they wouldn’t break; to overgrown tracks that would lead to a hidden water hole or rusted pieces of horse drawn farm equipment.
